Parshiot Translations:
The Hebrew (Jewish) Names of the Books of the Torah are based on the first (important) word of the Book. [Each parsha (weekly Reading) is named in the same manner.] Below is a chart of how these names compare to the Books of the Christian Bible. It is important to note that English text of the Book is translated directly and the book's message is the same in either language. There is however a richness and depth in the Hebrew which does not always come through in the English. BRT encourages readers / students of the Bible to purchase a Chumash in which the commentary at least gives insights into this richness.
Breisheet ["In the Beginning"] = Genesis
Sh'mot ["Names"] = Exodus
V'Yikra [And He Called"] = Leviticus
B'Midbar [In The Wilderness"] = Numbers
and
D'Varim ["Words"] = Deuteronomy
= = = = = =
Bonus
We also include a schedule of special readings
for use during Sukkot as you enjoy the environment of your
Back yard "Tabernacle"

Another Bonus
Again this year, for your convenience, we have included
(in the lower right corner of each Friday)
the "CLT"
This is the "Candle Lighting Time"
for each Erev Shabbat.
We have also indicated when each New Month begins and the previous Shabbat service during which the "molad" (blessing of the new month) should be recited . "RC" refers to Rosh Chodesh, the first day of the new month.
<<<< = = ==================================== = = >>>>
Special Note:
2011 is considered a leap year in terms of Torah Study. This means there is an additional month called Adar II added to the schedule. (The Month of Adar is known this year as Adar I). Parshiot which are normally read in pairs are separated for this special year.
